Pros
The general reliability and predictive nature of the oil and gas industry provides a very stable platform for employment. Despite the cyclical nature of downturns, many facilities do all they can to not lay people off unnecessarily.
Cons
The pay is not comparable to the rest of the industry. Many technicians and rig workers leave NOV for better pay at other companies, however, those jobs rarely last like a career at NOV would.
