      Good benefits, low pay, and feels dead end due to lack of employee development.

      Pros

      Work life balance is decent, but during crunch times you can put in many hours(i find this typical of any organization, though). Pay is low for the industry, but the job security is high. While our competitors are currently laying off thousands, NOV has done well to keep everyone on staff in Houston.

      Cons

      Systems are old and antiquated, running simple reports are difficult and require much time. Middle managers are often wrong, or unhappy, which creates some tension around the office, perhaps that is only at the location I work at though.

      Pros

      Good salary, excellent medical insurance plan, good 401k plan, bonus - decent benefit. Great Human Resource department. Oil industry doing well, so does NOV.

      Cons

      Mix of management styles among different groups - had great management in past, but after recent changes, come across bad and incompetent management that is damaging product development. Growth opportunities for young people.

      Tipical benifits, politically correct charities and a vast ammount of work loads.

      Cons

      Rampant Nepitism as subsidiary (ma n pa shops) make up NOV's walls. Lack of a human eliment in real life employee scenarios.
