- Corporate
Corporate office is oblivious to individual facilities. They only seem to care about facilities remaining profitable, which is evident through their bonus structure, as well as many other aspects of everyday business. They also require that every piece of computer equipment is bought through them, and they charge their subsidiaries a ridiculous premium for it. If I remember correctly, they charged about $4000 for a laptop that is $1500 to $2000 from Dell.
My Facility
Some of the smartest and hard-working people are actually on the bottom of the food chain but constantly made aware that they are in fact on the bottom. For instance, I was told on a Thursday that I was required to go to a customer's job site over the weekend, so I requested off the following Monday to get a break, see my family, etc. I was made aware by several people "above" me that employees are usually required to at least give two weeks notice before taking a day off, but they would let me take it because I was still new. Apparently, they can freely take away employees scheduled time off, but expect to be give substantial notice going the opposite direction.
- I had an office / computer job and didn't have a computer for more than a week after starting.
- I was told this was a 40 hour job in the interview, then found out it was REQUIRED 50 hours, and there were several weeks, I worked 60+. (I was only at this job for 3 and a half months)
- Pay didn't reflect hours worked or job requirements. Not even close.
- Computer equipment I did finally get was very poor, outdated, slow, and crashed constantly. Anytime I complained about it, I would get blamed.
- Constantly mocked and watched over by managers
- Many, many, MANY more...
