      Pros

      * Most people are pretty nice * Benefits are good * Fairly easy to move around * No set promotion schedule - all merit based

      Cons

      * They never fire anyone, even the abusive managers who should get fired * Work is not particularly challenging or innovative * NOV is not really a "leader" in the oil and gas sector * Entry-level compensation is below industry average.

      Pros

      They do have some good benefits and management seems to be eager to train their personnel.

      Cons

      Departments I engaged with were not competent and consistently would shut down the project. Work was mundane, not challenging at all. This could be different in other groups though.

      Pros

      A place to start a career and get into the oil and gas or manufacturing industries and move on after accumulating experience and finding a more challenging and rewarding opportunity. A part of the "good-ole boy" network.

      Cons

      1. Too much middle management and corporate management that do not share the same mindset as the company's ground-level operations. 2. Little exposure and training programs to develop employees throughout their employment 3. Too many acquisitions without thorough planning of integration grows and creates a low-morale culture.
