Pros

If you are interested in advancing your career or changing fields chances are NOV will give you the opportunity to do so. They also support professional development, but you may have difficulty advancing within the company.

Cons

The company is very disorganized & dysfunctional. Management tends to prevent successful employees from promoting especially if it means they will leave the business group. Management blocks employees from transferring unless they have disciplinary issues.

Its a bus stop

Pros

Due to the lack of structure, you are free to slack off or put the energy to learn. When there is work, overtime is plentiful and constant.

Cons

The Calgary location is a bus stop, new people are hired when there's work. After the contract is completed the lay off's are always in large numbers. Use this company as a stepping stone for apprenticeship or quick cash. This is NOT a place for long term employment.
