Pros

It's an enjoyable job, working with music and people who love music and are knowledgeable about it. The studios are well-resourced, using the latest software and technology. There is a good atmosphere.

Cons

The pay is low, though this is something I am prepared to accept for the enjoyable job I do. The pay mechanism is not straightforward, abd there are no benefits for part timers.

Pros

Some of the best reasons? That's a little difficult. When the company took over our stations, I was very optimistic about a more local radio group owning our group.

Cons

Management is very closed to any kind of non-management personnel ideas. Non Management personnel is ignored and often not even spoken to by management. Health Care plan is less than good. No encouragement to move up in the company, in fact, management frowns on it.

Pros

The company always owns the radio leader in every market it enters

Cons

management somewhat "aloof" but that comes from one who was with the station when it was one of one, one of three and one of give owned by same group. Now NRG owns 60-80 Midwest stations. Management also discontinued long tradition of annual bonuses based on yearly profits. That was not replaced with similar inctrease in base salary.
