If you're hired part time there is almost no ladder of ascension short of 5 years, sideways, yes. Upwards, no. and they pay isn't high enough to stick around longer to find out if any longer would do the trick. They will reward an employee doing the bare minimum that has worked there longer over an employee that goes above and beyond that has identical experience but hasn't been there as long Very common behavior of letting part-time employees do the work of full time employees that have left the company but will more often than not will choose to hire outside of the company to make sure part-time employees stay that way, just incase they need them to do it all again.
