Many Pros and Cons

Pros

+great mission that employees actually care about +good people who are usually well-educated and focused on collaboration +interesting projects +good work-life balance boundaries, if you set them yourself from the start +good benefits & PTO +the company seems to be trying to improve +decent pay, but below industry average +a good place to start your career, work hard and climb up +flexible schedule and ability to work remotely

Cons

-IT & user interface systems are extremely outdated and challenging to use or improve; this causes massive inefficiencies and doesn't represent NSF well to customers. -it seems like NSF hires for most positions based on who they can pay the least-- people at the beginning of their careers who will take a low salary and may not have the experience required to take NSF to a higher level -no vertical growth opportunities -ability to get coaching, mentoring, career development or travel opportunities depends very much on your supervisor -rules will be followed unless a big customer becomes upset, then it seems some rules can bend -annual performance review system is not well managed -if your position involves client project management, expect to be drowning in work -managers are often too busy with work projects to be effective people managers.
