Pros

The board finally got the CEO to "retire" after he destroyed the company's culture and lost the best minds in the organization to other employers through his "bean counting" mentality. He had absolutely no passion for or education in public health. His strength and training were in accounting.

Cons

The incoming CEO will need to work hard to build up the company and with a background in gas and for profit work - not non-profit public health - I sure hope he can learn the industry, for the sake of my friends who remain at NSF. I'm skeptical. The HRCO is still in place, and she was equally responsible for the disastrous "transformation" in 2021 and the resulting demotions in job titles (which she termed title harmonization...apparently it was only a conincidence that everyone's titles were simplified right before doing a salary survey). Until the new CEO or the board hires a replacement chief HR officer, morale within the company will remain low.

It has been good so far, but the future looks uncertain.

Pros

Leadership communicates well across the organization. It was a good place to work and employees felt valued until the company started its transformation process.

Cons

The recent transformation that is happening within the organization has been hard on the employees. The lower tier employees have been shuffled around by people higher up, who have no idea how the routine operations works. The company talks about diversity and inclusion, but it cannot be seen in actions and selections being made for important roles.

Company going through restructure aka cost cutting

Pros

Free pop and a small gym.

Cons

The way the company is doing their restructure is dumb beyond words. The same people who have been running the org poorly are now the ones restructuring the company, so we can imagine where that is going to go. Benefits are pretty awful, especially for young families or women wanting to grow their family. Pay is subpar versus other companies in the region. The “yearly goals” are a joke as well. The company cares more about its image than taking care of their employees.
