Can't Fix Their Problems

Pros

The company offers a very nice work environment for those who work in the corporate office. For those who are not in Ann Arbor, it is 'out of sight, out of mind.'

Cons

It is well known and even openly spoken about that most people in the organization do not have confidence in the senior management. They talk about change. But, how can there be any change when that "Change" is being conducted by the people who are the problem??

Pros

Great mission and co-workers. Love the energy that my co-workers bring to the table. You can tell they are all really passionate about organic, non-gmo and food safety/awareness in general. Benefits are great and the pay is decent for an entry level employee. Company gym access, free tea and coffee.

Cons

Management. I've never had such a lack of support from a management team. They do not appreciate constructive criticism and questions to better your own work and the work of the company as a whole. There has been a high turnover rate with the company that is highly reflective of this problem. There is not sufficient training and when mistakes are made because of this they hold it against you. Those who do mediocre work and do not speak up get promoted while honest and hard-working employees are overlooked. I have been with the company for over a year and have been trying to move up. They have pulled my resume from the application process and belittled me and my experience while other employees that have been with the company less than 3 months have already been promoted. If you're looking to advance and grow then you should not apply here. If you're looking for a starter job then go for it.

Pros

free soda, nice building, some dedicated people trying to provide a service while others spend all their time jockeying and conspiring to conduct a putsch. Also, good training contractors who run courses for NSF.

Cons

upper management is disconnected from reality. Revenue is God, even in a program where NSF certifies that laws and regulations are being met. When those conditions are not met, any attempts to remove certification are resisted by internal staff who fear retaliation of management for diminishing revenues. No support for middle managers
