Great Place to Work

Pros

Great staff, flexible hours and PTO, not having to answer to clients for quality of work, don’t have to constantly bill your time, and they give you the ability to cross train where you are interested. Work life balance is the best I’ve seen or heard of.

Cons

The work isn’t super technical, most of the fun engineering work is outsourced to contractors. Technology isn’t up to date, and government red tape on things like raises can get in the way. Tier 6 retirement participation and contribution is mandatory, and underperforms the most average of retirement plans.

Pros

Everyone I have worked with is super kind and helpful. I see the noticeable changes we are making to improve and protect the environment.

Cons

Obviously, budgeting issues prevent getting the appropriate amount of staff to be able to work. Right now the Department is down hundreds of jobs, which overworks employees and slows down progress.
