Pros

-There was plenty of time off. - Workdays were 7.5hrs (paid lunch). - I worked with some great and fun people. - I really enjoyed my work here and felt like I was making a difference. - Good benefits

Cons

- Salary is significantly less than private sector. This is what ultimately caused me to leave. - As a union employee, I was subject to contract negotiations. A 2% or 3% annual increase was the norm. - Lots of "driftwood". There is no incentive to work hard. You get the same benefits if you don't work hard and there are no consequences. - There isn't much room for growth. Promotions are within the civil service structure. This can make getting ahead more difficult. It can also result in less qualified individuals getting promoted. -Bureacracy

Pros

Job is not stressful and is stable. There is alot of vacation and sick leave giving to employees. The salary is decent and goes up a small percentage every year regardless of how you perform.

Cons

Salary is def. lower than in consulting. Over time you will make more money working in the private sector. The work is absolutely boring. If you are a "go getter" and young this is not the place for you. You will not learn much while working here. There also seems to be alot of politics involved in who gets promoted.

-Most employees are fun and easy to get along with -Outdoor setting is ideal, especially when the weather is cooperating -Variety of work keeps things interesting -Happy people are almost always around

Cons

-Unhappy campers make it tough -Getting raises can be frustrating -Rainy days can be long
