Pros
The mission and opportunity to work with the inmate population is rewarding and humbling experience.
Cons
Management isn't trustworthy. Interviewing they promise you the stars and the moon with support and open communication. After you start you find that there is zero direction, they don't listen to the boots on the ground, medication is being double dosed, not given, misreported, and when it is brought to the director's attention for clarification they turn a blind eye. When told that if there are any troubles or concerns to bring it to the attention of the next level, the solution is for that level to take the word of the supervisor over speaking to the majority of the team with the concerns. There have been false accusations made as well in retaliation for being called out for their management error. Overall it is a 100% CYA, and watch your back company. Do NOT expect your manager to stick up for you. They also have the same CYA and watch-your-back attitude for themselves. Sadly when hired I was told this. I didn't want to believe it. But I am seeing it constantly, daily
