Ridiculous. Worst job of my life.

Pros

Some very smart people, great products. Nice building but the office itself is an embarrassment because it's such a disaster. Pay is decent, but after the hours you put in, it recalculates to a very low wage.

Cons

Working here: expect to get ridiculed, underappreciated, insulted, overworked and overwhelmed. A number of folks are in places of power that have no business being there, and the few people that do know business and can actually grow this business don't have any power whatsoever because they clearly threaten the instability and ego of the top bananas. It's a shame that such a great product and company has been ruined by poor business acumen and massive dysfunctional egos. Also, lots of gossip and cliques here made it hard to ever feel welcomed by anyone.

Pros

Amazing work in the biotech and the advancements made me proud to be here. I also helped a lot of people while here and enjoyed all my employees.

Cons

* Very toxic work environment - did not realize how much so until I was away from here. So much drama and everyone is only working for themselves and not for the good of the whole. * No room for advancement - the only way to get a decent raise is to be promoted but those opportunities are far and few between * Leadership does not listen to concerns and only wants "Yes" people - if you try to say no or explain why things can't happen, they will not listen. * No work-life balance - expected to work 24/7 with no holidays and if in a supervisor role, you'll be working on your days off * CEO has no idea what happens within the company as far as its employees are concerned * No real recognition for good work

Toxic management

Pros

Let me get back to you on a pro that wouldn't be heavily outweighed by the below cons.

Cons

Don't expect you managers to support you if you get bullied or talked down to in meetings over and over again. The Biostats managers are just there to do everything in their power to get promoted and receive higher bonuses. As such, support their reports in front of bullies from other departments isn't on their radar because it may impact their relationships and as a result impact their EOY bonus and RSUs. They may even throw you under the bus if the opportunity arises itself, to make themselves look better. If you feel like the deadlines are crazy and you're working yourself to death, the Biostats management will not care and will never fight for you to buy you some time (the ppl that cared and were actual human beings little by little quit this department and left the company). So human decency, empathy, and care for reports aren't vocabularies or terms that they're familiar with at work. Work is all about being cut-throat and higher pay. Employees and reports are observed as mere numbers and means to an end. If you provide honest and respectful feedback about their behavior, they'll simply retaliate against you, your character, and your job. They don't have anything to be fearful about (yelling at a report just because the report has provided polite feedback is their go-to), because their higher ups (in Biostats) and the HR department don't check them and don't care. Do yourself a favor and run away from this company (specifically Biostats, as I know a couple of the higher ups from other departments have a good head on their shoulders). You sanity, mental and physical health is far more valuable than the meager salary you'll receive from them. No amount of money is worth the trauma that you'll face being a part of this department and enduring constant mental abuse.
