Pros

The training people and the HR person who hired me was very nice.

Cons

Total sweatshop. The training for FNOL (First Notice Of Loss) entry level job was really intense. They want you to learn so much information and their complicated computer system for very low pay. I lasted one week and then quit. You also have to buy into your benefits with your paycheck so by the end of it all you are left with nothing. Training was 8 hours a day for AT LEAST 5 weeks with only two 15 minute breaks and and UNPAID lunch. Do yourself a favor and be a janitor..you will make just as much and much less stress.

Pros

The ability to work from home They provide decent equipment ( a laptop (on the smaller size), 2 monitors, a docking station, mouse, keyboard, webcam, headset, surge protector, and an ethernet cable ) (you’re not allowed to keep anything)

Cons

The managers and management is poorly ran, lacks knowledge, nitpick-y, and unapproachable. The training you receive is dated mind-numbing videos that you can’t apply to actual work. They can’t even be considered “agile” - they use ADO so they have “sprints” “epics” and “features” but it’s no where close to the industry standard of being “agile” You have to un-learn correct practices just to conform to their backwards ways of operating. For any question you have, you’ll be spun around in circles just to receive the wrong answer or half the information you needed. You are expected to account for every minute of the day in time consuming inefficient ways.

Pros

Low-key Hires bootcamp grads Developers are trusted, no micromanagement Lack of competition Everyone goes home at 5 Overall friendly and supportive Not nerdy enough to discriminate against LGBT and women The legacy software is not good, but it's not horrible. Good time off and very good medical insurance

Cons

About as low pay as you can get in this field, but me and my coworkers all live in areas with low cost of living, so we are still doing very well. Some teams are more collaborative than others, it's inconsistent Basically zero technical leadership Very little opportunity to learn or practice good engineering
