      All the usual government benefits and security. Good work/life balance.

      Cons

      The headquarters is in a very inconvenient location. There is little room for personal innovation and difficult to advance.

      Pros

      Good benefits, somewhat competitive salaries (unless you're entry level). I'm not sure if this should go in the "Cons" section, but once you're past the 2 year probationary period, your job is very permanent.

      Cons

      Government job, very controlling, think Animal Farm. Significant amount of cronyism, nepotism, fraud, waste and abuse. Furloughs are always a possibility, however, that's mainly due to the inability of our congress to make decisions which are more difficult than where take their vacations at.

      Excellent internship opportunities for college students. Thoughtful on-boarding program for new employees. Impressive training and education classes. Teleworking option available.

      Cons

      Many in workforce resistant to cultural change toward transparency in tradecraft and sharing of information. Innovation hampered by archaic procurement policies. Stovepipe operations still thriving despite efforts towards collaboration.
