Pros

The lunch program and PTO.

Cons

If you are a woman then don't bother looking into this company. It's almost impossible to move up as a woman even if you have experience they will choose some guy off of the street before they would choose you. Management is terrible. They don't have any empathy for their employees and any new ideas go in one ear and out the other. Human Resources is a joke. They don't care about their employees and can be very rude. There aren't any work from home opportunities unless you are liked by the "in crowd". The pay isn't good and the raises are next to nothing. There is next to no diversity and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Pros

Good lunch program with daily specials at an affordable price. Good benefits, 401k match, and PTO. New gym and locker rooms and the "campus" is attractive. Minimal amount of micromanagement. Your co-workers are extremely helpful. They will be the ones training you and go out of their way to get new employees up to speed as it ultimately benefits them.

Cons

Management is out of touch with their employees and inadequately staff their claims divisions. Supervisors do not step in and help when there is increased claims frequency which happens weekly. There is no consistency between claims supervisors, managers or directors which makes the constant moving around of talent frustrating. This ultimately effects the business and clients comment as to how often changes in staff/policies occur. To be considered seriously for a promotion you need to be a management favorite. They have created several new positions for specific people not allowing others to apply. Cliques are all over the company and if you're not in you might as well get out now. If you ever try to ruffle feathers watch out, they are very quickly to black list you, make you want to quit, and then place blame and bad mouth you when you're gone and can't defend yourself.

Pros

I really enjoy the small company feel that NATL has maintained. The company culture is friendly and positive. My team is collaborative and my manager appreciates and listens to my ideas - which is very important to me as a young professional. I also value NATL's outlook on community involvement and its recognition of the need to invest in employees' professional development.

Cons

Lack of diversity - especially in leadership roles.
