Pros

The mission is second to none. As a combat support agency, supporting the warfighter and helping to accomplish their mission was tremendously rewarding. Working on technical projects spanning all seven layers of the OSI model was awesome. Some of the most honorable, talented people in the world work there.

Cons

Some of the people were incredibly frustrating to work with. Occasionally, military people assigned for a two year tour with no skills, no talent and no previous experience were assigned to roles that were beyond what they should have ben responsible for. That could get frustrating, but they were easy to work around.

Good Agency to Work At

Pros

The workforce is comprised of civilians, military, and contractors. The agency is getting better at diversity. Plenty of opportunities available to move around within the agency and field sites.

Cons

There is still quite a bit of nepotism. It is not uncommon for husbands, wives, and children to work within the agency. Performance ratings often seem as though they are based on a preset bottom line score versus how an employee truly performed against a given objective.
