I started My career at National Vision in 2017 as a full time Optician, I am currently a General Manager.
Pros
I truly love what this company stands for and how they back up their vision and Mission. It’s very rewarding to walk away after your shift everyday and know you are making a difference in people’s life’s by being able to provide affordable eye care And eyewear, not to mention the many times we have given kids free glasses. My favorite part is when they pick up their free glasses and they can actually see. The excitement is priceless. Prior to National Vision I worked for a very well know retail corporate for 17 years. During all those years not once did I ever meet the CEO of my former employer. I recently attended a National Vision corporate meeting and was so taken back by the fact that our CEO Read at our meeting and even more taken back when he sat at my table for dinner, What a humble leader we have. I love my job and take pride in working for this great company and I would definitely recommend.
Cons
The hours the Managers work are long and at times it’s difficult to take PTO due to block out time frames due to peak busy times for the business. At times it’s stressful but manageable.
