Pros

Get to meet and help some great customers. You get to learn about optics and develop sales skills. You may also get to work with some great coworkers.

Cons

VERY low pay for entry level associates and below industry average pay for managers. Many stores currently experiencing high turnover and understaffing. Split days off. 45 hour minimum work week for store managers. Managers are expected to personally sell 20%+ of store volume without commission. Annual raises are a joke, often in the 2-3% range for all associates. Very little opportunity for advancement past store manager. No clear career development. It is a "yes" culture where stores are expected to execute on corporate initiatives with little to no input from the store level.

Pros

If you're lucky, a good general manager will make the experience better. Solid pay

Cons

Extremely corporate. When you are speaking to your superior managers in the store; the speaking tone they use, techniques, and meetings they hold are all from the higher ups in the corporate office. Absolutely no personalization or supportive store environment. No matter how good you think you are doing corporate will always make a store visit and tell you what you are doing wrong. Always increasing sales goals year over year. No positive feedback from corporate or management. Will mess with your commission based on entire store sales. Never offers stable commission for sales.

Pros

Loved my job ..because I truly tried make a difference in patients experience.. .

Where do I start? Worked for America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses from the very beginning of store opening in January.2012 at Clearwater location until just recently. Turnover of employees. ..very, very high. .management extremely poor with no direction or leadership. And average of 40 or more patients for one doctor each day. Patients were rushed through appointment , leaving them with the feeling of no importance and insecure about their RX. They have gone through six managers in two and a half years and five doctors...PLUS there were weeks at a time without any doctor! I was the last one to leave from the original staff...just couldn't feel good about working for this dysfunctional group of "professionals" any longer.
