Pros

Working with often talented colleagues, who are all trying their best under the circumstances.

Cons

Since the new ownership came in at the beginning of 2021, there is no company culture, no recognition of people's contributions, and zero support. Changes of strategy and leadership happen abruptly without any explanation, because this is how (chairman / CEO / editor-in-chief) David Montgomery operates. The business's core teams like HR, learning and development and recruitment have all been chipped away at, to the extent you have to do everything yourself. There is also no engagement with the NUJ whenever staff issues are raised. Not that it was perfect before 2021 - far from it - but the culture within the company has become completely outdated and toxic.
