Decent wage, home-working and varied work

Cons

Corporate culture, no sense of getting to know the staff, lack of communication, very hierarchal and basic things for a job are not given. Pension is woeful at 3%.

Salary is very very very bad. The workload is completely unsustainable and the training is poor. There are so many pay discrepancies across every newspaper and they are not transparent about the pay scale. Reach are paying their senior journalists £30K and seniors at NW are lucky to get £24K.

Constant development and opportunities to gain new skills and experience. The benefits package is fabulous, including flexible working, health care, cycle scheme, holiday allowance and more. The business has forward thinking policies covering baby loss, menopause and shared parental leave etc. I am very easily bored, after 15 years I am still engaged and have opportunities to continue my professional and personal growth. The business is funding a professional qualification for me, and the same opportunity is open to every colleague.
