Pros

-NW is an institution of Columbus. By being a part of it you will deal with other large financial companies across the country and the exposure and experience gained in that regard is good, along with the NW brand on your resume. -Access to Blue Jackets, The Memorial Tournament, other special events in Columbus. -Great balance of work/play. You don't sweat the job after you clock out everyday and generally vacation time is adequate. -Coworkers generally are very pleasant and amiable.

Cons

-From my time here at least, it seemed as if this was a place a ton of people chose to work at just for a paycheck, which of course is something everyone needs to survive at the end of the day, but other people look for more purpose and fulfilling ways to spend their time. The rest of the people just work here their entire lives with no dreams of doing anything besides being a manager for their department. -While people obviously people want to move up the ladder and succeed at their jobs, with a lot of the employees, there just seems to be a pervading sense of "I don't really care about this", so they end up burned out by the job and pursue something elsewhere more aligned with their true interests. As a result you tend to find a bottleneck effect within most employees-either pretty fresh out of college or they have been here for a long time (10+ years) -If your position requires you to take inbound calls, prepare for the stress of that, you will get plenty from obnoxious/demanding agents and coworkers higher up the ladder than you demanding you take care of THEIR business before everyone else's. -Bureaucratic nature makes it difficult for your voice to truly be heard sometimes.

Pros

Large Financially stable company. Just made #69 on Fortune 500.

Cons

Inconsistent vision with leadership. Right now, the focus is commercial insurance market, but does not have the bench strength to pursue all out commercial markets. Company will change direct by 2020. Lack of accountability from leadership.
