Team Blind Posts are True

Pros

Some talented people work here

Cons

Head over to Team Blind– most of what is posted there is accurate. Layoffs are quietly happening (customer success and marketing) while the CEO assures everyone that everything is fine. There is no transparency– other departments aren't even aware of layoffs and only find out via former colleagues' LinkedIn posts and deactivated Slack accounts. The culture here really is toxic, no exaggeration. People are burnt out. Job scope changes frequently. Leadership is in way over their heads and don't provide clear strategy or direction. Most of strategy seems to be what competitors are doing. The CRO has somehow convinced the leadership team that he is a capable leader, which he is not. The marketing team has gradually disappeared because the CEO thinks he and the CRO are capable of running marketing on their own– which they are not. Customer success is an absolute mess and has significant churn. No one is appreciated or properly resourced. HR is nonexistent. Middle-management is handcuffed by egotistical CEO who seems more excited to talk about his newest sneakers than how to empower the team. The only 5-star reviews are from SDRs who have literally worked there for less than a month and were thrown a party and given swag.

Pros

Fun happy hours, good friendships with other people in your position, free lunch

Cons

If you are prepared to be constantly stressing about your job to the point where your weekend is only Saturday because you're stressing about your job all day on Sunday then this is the job for you. Management is not open to suggestion and they are not open to molding to fit your specific learning requirements. They make you believe that going to bootcamp is going to be the best thing in the world for you but it gives you false confidence. One of the only good things is that if you can do this job you can do any job; there. are few other companies that will push you to your limits (in a bad way) like this one. Also, if you are an SDR and don't want to continue down the sales path, just leave. The culture is fine, but if you don't drink you basically won't get to participate in anything. Zero work life balance.

Pros

The friends you make. Free lunches.

Cons

When you're being recruited, its standard practice to take what the recruiters and employees say with a grain of salt. But the inconsistencies are too glaringly obvious. From the promise to promotion in 3-6 months, to never having a team not hit quota, to the CONSTANT changes in metrics. Management plays favorites, and promotes quickly for business need, while leaving high achievers in the dust. The sales floor is quite and filled with crushed optimism. The direct managers care and work hard for their teams, but it seems like there is a large disconnect between managers and directors+. I would STEER CLEAR of joining this org. P.S. all of the 5 star reviews are made while people are at bootcamp, less than 1 month into their tenure
