Pros

Company will stop at nothing to please its employees. CRO is kind and very funny. Good logo. Long hours will make your family appreciate you more when you finally get to see them. Nobody interested in travel - super challenge to sell! No certainty - wild ride!

Cons

Stress is quite high but I have learned to cope by crying regularly. Carlos is, if anything, too charismatic.

Pros

-Great coworkers: some of the best people that I've worked with - Catered Lunches: not anymore since COVID hit - Great Perks: Travel stipend but they took that perk away after covid - Good compensation - Dog friendly office

Cons

Our old CRO, Rich that they demoted was GREAT. He takes the time to learn everyone's name even in the NY office, which he doesn't have to. He truly cares about the development of the employees and had empathy until the new CRO Carlos took over. He does not care about how the employees are doing - raising overly high expectations even during covid times and firing a bunch of people. Management plays favorites and thats why people that doesn't even do well get promoted and others left behind. Sales managers are so micromanaging in terms of saying you must hit X amount of calls everyday or else but also they don't guide their employees at all. Once a great company going down the hill not entirely even because of covid.

Pros

Nice office, ok benefits, recent round of funding

Cons

The company has a serious void of competent people leaders. There are managers everywhere, but the title does not equate to competence. This starts from the very top. The co-founders are neither inspiring, nor good leaders of people. Their respective orgs are run more out of fear than hiring solid people and trusting their decisions. A culture of blame certainly exists. Certain departments are completely devoid of leadership and managers are pulling the rope in all different directions, then changing course on a regular basis. Overall, the company seems to be doing ok from a business perspective despite the internal mess. It’s hard to imagine this continuing as the company gets bigger and bigger and these issues are magnified.

I appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. Our culture is a huge part of who we are at TripActions and we fully recognize that having great managers is critical for a company growing as fast as we are all around the globe. We recognize that things can get crazy at a hyper-growth startup, but that's never an excuse for ensuring our managers are the best they can be across the board. I'm thinking through some new programs that we can run to better support our managers and leaders and would love your input. If you're open to chatting live, please don't hesitate to reach out!
