Pros
Benefits - 100% health, very high dental insurance. People remember the things you do for them, the pay it forward concept truly flourishes here. This is also definitely a family place to work, there are many entire families and couples that work for NFCU. Very family oriented, close to DC, easy to get to. We have our own bus stop! In house 911 system, in house gym, to include free memberships available to local sports clubs/gyms for off-site employees. In house cafeteria, it's actually pretty good, with different stuff nearly every day. A beautiful campus, 1.2 mile track surrounding HQ to run/walk on, great programs to work with, written in house by our people for us. Truly a great place to work. Get in the right department, or make it past your first year, and you're golden.
Cons
Some people seem to get promoted based on seniority, not brains or ideas or mentality, all can lead to the "because I said so" type of leadership. Some managers have trouble communicating to their employees, but thats pretty much on a case by case basis, and prob happens everywhere. Parking can be a pain, but walk a ways or get there early and you'll have no issues - I get there at 0445, and park in the same spot every day - no door dings yet!
