Pros

Taking the van home, company provided cell phone, and that’s about it

Cons

Pay is terrible, unnecessary amount of meetings they claim it’s tech training but when the topic of discussion is my bosses next hunting trip I don’t see the benefit. They care more about the Google reviews than the service provided

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We want to clarify that this review appears to reflect the experience of an employee working for an independently owned and operated franchise within the Neighborly network, rather than for Neighborly corporate itself. While each franchise is responsible for its own hiring, compensation, and management practices, we do take all feedback seriously and encourage franchise owners to foster respectful, supportive, and growth-oriented environments for their teams. We’re sorry to hear that your experience hasn’t met expectations, particularly regarding compensation, communication, and training. We encourage you to share your concerns directly with your franchise leadership or through any internal feedback channels available to you. Open dialogue is essential to improving workplace culture and ensuring team members feel valued and heard. Thank you again for your input—it helps highlight areas where both franchise owners and the broader Neighborly community can strive to do better.

Poor leadership with minimal pay

Pros

Hybrid and remote opportunities with minimal micromanagement. Friendly environment & good teamwork at the job work level

Cons

Nepotism is at its finest in the hiring process. Upper management is hired based on who you know and not qualifications. Because of this there is a major lack of knowledgeable support to the franchise businesses. Your industry experience and length in your field make no difference because your feedback is never taken into consideration, and when it is, it’s presented as their own. Even though you are told several times “you’re doing a great job, and your work isn’t going unnoticed”, and no matter the amount of hours and passion you put into your job, there is never “room in the budget” for promotions and raises and/or the decision is always “coming from above”. Even though you are more qualified for open positions, you are passed up and friends and family are hired at management levels. Loopholes in the hiring process; the job is posted even though the person they intend to hire is already given the job, making it look like they’ve followed proper procedure.

We are committed to maintaining a fair and transparent recruitment process, and we regret that you feel this has not been your experience. In regard to your concerns about recognition, promotions and budget constraints, we strive to acknowledge and reward hard work. We recognize that your expectations may have not been met in these areas. We would encourage you to reach out directly to your manager or People Services to discuss your career goals or any specific instances where you feel your contributions have not been acknowledged. We value feedback and would welcome the opportunity to connect further.
