Pros

It pays you enough to survive. Most of the coworkers are pleasant. Customers are pleasant. Discounts and benefits are pretty good.

Cons

Store executives tend to be arrogant and condescending. Respect rolls uphill only. Little or no training but high expectations (unless you are a store level executive). Outdated equipment for support staff. No opprtunity for advancement (only at certain locations). Company policies and procedures vary by location. Overall store morale the poorest that I have seen in retail. Very political. Corporate executives are blind as long as the sales associates are raking in the sales.

Pros

The discount and the other associates. It can be like a little family at times.

Cons

Arrears. Awful, awful pay. The Bellevue Neiman Marcus customer just about returns everything that he or she buys. That or they are happily shopping down the street at Nordstroms. Management and HR nearly have their heads up their whatevers. I have never worked for individuals so full of themselves. HR promises great things when you're starting, but it's all a lie. You won't go anywhere here and you won't make enough money to live on. And good luck trying to have a life outside of Neiman Marcus. If you request a day off, you might or might not get it off, but that can always change last minute.

Pros

Looks good on your resume. Employee discount.

Cons

Commissioned sales only. Salespeople are barrracudas. Lot's of backstabbing. No employee retention in stores.
