Pros

The high standards of the store makes you proud of working there. The ability to work with elite merchandise is a nice experience. There is a lot of thought process that goes in to the stores, and the history is great. Over all I think the company is good, and tries to treat there employees well.

Cons

People that work there can have a bad attitude. We all work for the same company and same team so lets treat each other with the same respect and attitude. That means everyone from the top of the totem pole to the people who clean the floor. RESPECT!

Pros

Neiman Marcus Online is an office full of young people. It is a fun, young, modern work environment. Most of the Online staff is between the ages of 22 and 35. The 30% discount is helpful, but may not get used as often if this is your first job and you're trying to save. Benefits include being updated months in advance on new fashion trends and special drastic discounts on sample sale merchandise. Discounts are also available in Neiman Marcus and Cusp stores and at NeimanMarcus.com and Cusp.com. Hours are pretty relaxed and employees are allowed to work on their own rather than being micro-managed.

Cons

Even though we are in an office and working for a website, it is still retail. Holiday time is a little crazy and time off is at a minimum. In addition, salaries and benefits are much lower than the average for the field. On the upside, the NM reputation goes further than salary when searching for other employment. The dress code is still business casual, and most offices have dropped that by now. No denim, no tennis shoes. Invest in lots of black and if you are female, lots of fancy footware. This is not a job for the faint of ego.
