I drank the Kool Aid as the CEO declared "I want this to be the last job you've ever worked for".
Then he brought in new C-level execs, who want to rebuild. It's typical and understandable that they wanted to bring their own people. I accepted that my days were numbered, but the way it was done was really bad. The VP hired above me was particularly horrendous. They left me and team members with emotional trauma. They liked to micromanage and used bullying tactics - like public humiliation and yelling - when things didn't go their way. even when they caused the outcome through their micromanagement. They were a bully in meetings, even cross functionally. I was glad to be out of there when I had the chance.
