Pros

I specifically work with an amazing team but encountered many others throughout lockdown and the people all seem pretty great in general. The company is serious about making sure employees feel appreciated, which I definitely do, from genuinely thoughtful perks and treats like an unannounced gift of some healthy snacks, a cute plant, and a really nice Nespresso branded blanket during lockdown just for self-care reasons, to appreciation meetings, a free coffee allowance, and birthday and christmas goodies. There's also decent bonus pay opportunities if your team performs well. There's sales targets but the environment I personally work in is thankfully no where near too shady and sharky, the sales expectations is NOT to hard sell, and there's support/encouragement rather than pressure. Even when insanely short-staffed, the issue isn't resolved simply by demanding too much of your time and making you work too much; they would sooner send someone from another store to cover than make you work a week without a couple days off. The company values etc are great and it's one I can be proud of doing genuinely amazing work on sustainability and other hugely ethically good things worth supporting, e.g. investing 1m to reviving Congo's coffee industry and building health clinics and clean water stations for the farmers and communities to support this. There's a HUGE opportunity for those who like to learn; the level of training and expert knowledge gained is extensive and ongoing.

Cons

A lot of what I love about my job specifically will be in part influenced by the amazing team I work with directly so, as always, do be aware the specific people you work with could affect your experience negatively as always. Sometimes the rotas aren't completed very far in advance if there are unforseen circumstances but this isn't an issue personally and if it was I know management would make sure to work with me to prevent it becoming one if I want to make plans etc. Just be aware if it would be a big issue for you.
