Pros

There are many pros to working for Nespresso. Supportive managers, Nestle benefits, coffee credit, etc. The company truly takes care of its employees. Nespresso is genuinely customer centric, stopping at nothing to ensure club members are taken care of as well. The company is definitely headed in the right direction!

Cons

In terms of technology Nespresso has a lot of catching up to do on the retail side. The point of sale system gets the job done but is archaic, not efficient, and goes offline regularly. This is not a good impression on club members waiting while the program is frozen...again. It’s fine if I’m in the office dealing with computer problems but on the sales floor club members definitely notice and it is not acceptable. Nespresso has luxury product and service and the technology should match to make the transaction seamless for our club members. This is not a boutique specific issue.

Pros

Free coffee machine Good discount on machines Coffee allowance Focus on recycling and sustainability

Cons

Micromanaging. Focus on unrealistic sales targets. Use public holidays as an excuse to push unattainable expectations on staff. Holidays not granted even with 6 months notice. Senior coffee specialists and champions perform roles usually fulfilled by management or specialists with qualifications. Expectations of them are far too high, especially considering they are unlikely to have qualifications in stock management or health and safety and are not paid any more for the extra work load. Contacted on days off and late nights for trivial things. Tills use an absolutely terrible system, leading to many mistakes in processing orders and delays resulting in disciplinaries for staff and customers left disgruntled. High number of complaints, inconsistency in how to deal with them. Rules and procedures are contradictory and it seems like new things get briefed out every week. Bonus is very low and isn't worth getting excited about. HR and management often unhelpful and rude if you have an issue. Training is monotonous. Staff are totally demotivated, high staff turn over. Unprofessional management style. Lots of gossip and favourites. No progression, no transparency. Manipulation by management.
