Pros

It's a pretty comfortable environment. The engineering organization is full of good, smart people, who generally want to do the right thing. Senior leadership is pretty good.

Cons

It's become a fairly mature company, with some legacy baggage. A lot of people have gotten comfortable and are content to run on autopilot, not doing the best work they are capable of. Communication between groups could be better (though really, is probably better or on par with most organizations of its size).

Pros

Because NetApp puts great emphasis on its "Great Place to Work" status, it offers some interesting but little used perks… in-house gym, 40 hours paid volunteer time, etc.

Cons

Big company problems like ineffective IT, confusing HR policies such as a forced unpaid company closure during the Christmas - New Year's break.
