Pros

Engaging work environment! The NetBase product and internal teams are constantly evolving and adapting to the market while staying true to what matters which is quality, reliability, and top of the line engineering to ensure we are a leader in the industry. This guarantees a never boring work life. Diversity matters! NetBase hires based on evidence of talent. There are brilliant people here who have a passion to work hard to make things happen. Not because of a hero or lone ranger mentality, but because they strive to make things better together. Success takes different people from different backgrounds and skillsets to collaborate. Sponsors from leadership! We do have leaders that are willing to raise up a younger generation. Encouraging them, coach them, and share wisdom learned from their experiences. It has been my reality that leadership is reachable, approachable, and inclined to help. The people! I'm honored to work with the team I'm on. They aren't afraid of change and they are willing to share their skillsets, time, and energy to provide the best product in the industry.

Cons

It’s a lot of work. There is not much “down-time” for most of the field teams. Most of the time Work/Life isn’t balanced. However there is a rhythm to how you work that helps or hurts. The best managers enable their team to lean into that by recognizing it, talking about it, and providing resources and tools that help you move from working harder to working smarter. Pro / Con = You can’t hide here. Whatever your day to day task, there are not layers of people to pad the responsibility. You’ll need to be efficient and follow through or you won’t enjoy it / want to stay.

Dishonest Company

Pros

- You have the ability to work remotely. - A handful of people are kind and helpful.

Cons

Wow, where to begin? For starters, they have had issues with hiring talent so management has forced employees to write fake reviews. Notice how they all were written within a span of 3 days and all sound similar.... This is one of many examples of how dishonest NetBase is. The product is extremely slow/buggy and is sub par compared to other social listening tools out there. NetBase's leadership team is full of people who were promoted into their roles based on seniority and not merit. This leads to either extremely arrogant or inexperienced managers who fail to motivate, inspire and manage their teams, leading to a high turnover. For example, one of the younger managers had a 100% turnover rate on his/her team in the last year, yet they continue to allow him/her to hire new and unsuspecting people. The entire UK team also had an extremely high turnover rate in the last year due to poor management and a lack of support.

Pros

Hours are flexible with telecommute option. The social listening platform is cutting-edge and new features are constantly added to stay competitive. Talented engineers in Taiwan.

Cons

Not transparent with staff, communication disconnect between teams and projects, and managers are too self absorbed to see what they do wrong. Many ex-workers left suddenly with little to no explanation from management, no quick thank-you and send-off gatherings for them, leaving a bad taste in remaining employees. Managers do not know how to handle their subordinates and executives are oblivious to this. Upper management doesn't know how to keep employees motivated. Company core values are superficial.

Pros

* The most collaborative and collegial culture I've worked in (having been at several tech and non-tech companies previously). Colleagues here are smart and fun to work with. Very low ego. Everyone from senior execs on down roll up their sleeves and get into the details. Yes, we have high expectations - which is something one should want in an organization * Solid product roadmap and business plan. Our product development pipeline has accelerated over the past 2 years. The features we released over this period have made our main product market-leading (not a commodity) as seen in 3rd party industry reviews such as Forrester. We have more enhancements in the works for our main product. As well, we are now focusing on new products that leverage our core platform while significantly expanding the market size for us * Stable and growing R&D team. While some colleagues were unfortunately impacted in a recent re-organization, our core engineering team is larger than it was a year ago * Growing customer base. Our major customers include numerous Fortune 500 companies and major advertising agencies. Many have been with us for a number of years. We partner closely with our customers on our product roadmap - and they have been thrilled with the new functionality we have implemented * Solid career path. My responsibilities have steadily increased in the nearly 3 years that I have been here. My managers have been responsive in providing me the opportunities that have allowed me to grow After our recent re-org, I had 2 offers to go elsewhere with extremely competitive comp packages. One with a major tech company based in Seattle and one with a local startup that just closed another round of funding. I declined both offers because I believe in our business plan and love the collaborative/collegial culture we have built here

Cons

None - unless you are not willing to work hard and be flexible as the market evolves
