Pros

Great benefits, pay is pretty good and can be great if you work more days per month. Airline and hotel point accrual. Full medical, dental, paid vacations. Some flexibility with scheduling.

Cons

The work at times is extremely difficult and includes light cooking, washing dishes, cleaning (including the toilet), berthing beds, etc. Also when you are not flying, but on a work day, for example at a hotel or at home, they can keep you on "standby" meaning they can call you out to fly at any moment. Also in a work day they are allowed to use you for 14 or the 24 hours as per the contract.

fun industry

Pros

This is a fun industry to work in. For crew members there are great travel benefits. Team members are good people.

Cons

Demanding work load. Pilots and Flight Attendants (unionized) receive better compensation and work balance than other employees, even considering the type of job. Very limited career path in most departments. Bonuses are uncertain, they seem to be pulled out of the air if at all after the year is over (and they supposedly replaced salary increases a few years ago).

Still the same as it's ever been

Pros

Great 401k match, in past years the bonus has been good, even if the salaries are a bit low. Interesting business model and day to day.

Cons

Lots of new management, but nothing has really changed. They pay lip service to being focused on employee happiness, but that's about it. New CEO shrunk the ELT team claiming it he wanted a flatter structure to be closer to the people on the ground, 6 months later and it's exploded out and larger than ever. Have made small tweaks to employee "total compensation" package, but again, mostly lip service. New vacation policy is no better than the old. Management still have a massive disconnect from the day to day people who keep the company running and middle management is disconnected from both.
