Pros

- In general, your colleagues are going to be really good people, with excellent skills - Dissent, and candor are encouraged - If you don't want to play the golden handcuffs / RSU game, Netflix's "one big base pay" can be an attractive option - Considered as a "cool" place to work at by most outsiders

Cons

- Becoming less differentiated from other big tech firms, sold as becoming "grown up" - "Levels" were introduced to depress pay for, and encourage voluntary attrition among long tenured engineers - Information access is getting more, and more closed off - "Freedom and responsibility" got abused by some, leading to it being replaced by "people over process"

Pros

Good pay, (No) work (ALL) life balance if you are able to manage up. Meet the directors/manager outside for coffee/ lunch and meet them at their homes - relationship is everything here 'people over process (work)' . Enjoy the good pay, travel and its the best for seniors looking to coast.

Cons

Manager and directors dont have a vision, not a tech but entertainment company. I slowly saw all the talented technical folks build solutions and leave, mediocrity is celebrated here and politics is daily bread and butter.

Smart people, excellent product and decent salary

Cons

Netflix has not figured out how to be a big company and assumes re-orgs fixes problems. Management needs to grow a spine to be truthful to its old culture.
