Pros

Good benefits such as the 75% discount on a season ticket. Flexible hours and generous holiday allowance.

Cons

As a Band 5 I have found the internal training either poor or non existent leaving new starters to pick up their role and learn through mistakes and devising their own knowledge documentation. The Personal Objectives procedure is flawed and is open to allowing personal relationships between Line Manager and Employee, negative or positive, sway the final results which can have catastrophic consequences on the individuals home life and private finances. The appeal process is very long and drawn out which puts a lot of people off from pursuing.

Thanks for sharing your experience at Network Rail and for pointing out the frustrations you'd encountered. We're working hard to remove bureaucracy through our Putting Passengers First programme. and this is providing lots of opportunity for devolved decision making. We'd hope that your experience today would be much different from what you may have encountered previously. Thanks again for your comments and we wish you all the very best for the future.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We appreciate the feedback both positive and contructive. It's a shame that you've left but as an organisation our aspiration is that the behaviours and actions that support diversity and inclusion will come from the conviction of everyone here at Network Rail. As such we have various processes and support in place such as HR colleagues, a Diversity and Inclusion team, Diversity and Inclusion champions as well as policies and guidance to support our colleagues. Adding to this is our speak-out line. Speak Out is our confidential reporting service run on our behalf by an independent company. You can use the service to raise concerns about behaviours anonymously that might go against our business ethics. Reinold Talent Acquisition Manager
