A big business which can lose sight of its staff needs
Pros
1. Very well paid across roles compared to other companies. 2. Flexible working arrangement 3. You only have to work 35hrs per week 4. Annual leave is great 28 days plus bank holiday with the option to buy 2 days. 5. Lots of job roles available with Network Rail internally 6. Offices are modern and very nice 7. Great development of engineers but not other areas e.g Project Management, Commercial, Planning.
Cons
1. Across the board the business seems to be reporting mad. 2. Development of staff is something that needs to be worked on e.g succession planning 3. Lack of team work between different disciplines 4. Very top heavy management 5. Governance can sometimes hinder / prolong getting things done 6. Rather than investing in staff development and recruiting staff, NR seem very happy to pay loads of contractors to come in and do the job
