Great opportunities, weak HR, misogyny in parts

Pros

I enjoyed my 10 years at NR - lots of opportunities, variety, good pay, supportive learning/development, interesting work, rewarding - you're supporting an organisation that delivers important work.

Cons

Don't even try to manage poor performance - it is a nightmare as HR is terrified of the unions (expect to inherit poor performers as they get passed around the business). Sexism - it is improving, but there were some terrible behaviours and incidents which were endemic in the organisation - the graduate scheme back in 2011 was rife with misogyny. It can be hard coming in to the organisation as a female... but persevere, as it is a great organisation overall (and it is only through diversity that things will improve).
