Pros

Network Rail is a great company to work for, with plenty of opportunities to develop your career. Generally, managers look after their employees and they help you to progress and achieve your aspirations. There are plenty of employee networks that support diversity in the workforce and build a culture of equality for everyone to succeed. I feel empowered and supported to develop my own career and I have found plenty of opportunities to learn new skills via training, secondments or bespoke project in certain areas of my interest. Work-life balance is very good, with a contract of 35 hours per week for all employees, 28 days of annual leave (+2 that you can buy), 5 days per year to do volunteering of your choice, and flexible working arrangements available.

Cons

It is a very big company and therefore changes take too long to get embedded.
