Variety, challenge, loads of people to meet and get involved with, good salary and benefits, very limited capacity to get bored

Can be quite intense in terms of workload, sometimes frustrating in that several factors are out of your control.

Cons

because it involves shift work the home work balance cannot always be kept equal. the length of shifts can become a bit over the top
