Pros

New Home Star provides a ton of training and support to their associates along with incredible marketing from their corporate office. Agents truly support each other through New Home Star's online portal. I was an individual new to the real estate industry- it was a frightening career change. I was fortunate enough to learn the art of new home sales before I stepped on the sales floor. I can honestly say that breaking into the real estate industry with a company that cared about my success was the best career decision I have ever made!

Cons

Selling new homes is a full time job! You have to be dedicated to your career because this position requires 100% effort every day. If you are not a motivated person, then this industry is not for you.

Pros

I currently work out of the support office in Illinois on builder marketing initiatives. Overall great culture with plenty of fun people and exciting projects. There is a ping pong table, dart board, and a basketball hoop in case we hit a creative block. Hours are flexible in the morning with either an 8:30 am or 9:30 am start, and a 4 pm or 5 pm finish respectively. Compensation is competitive with full medical/dental benefits included in my contract.

Cons

The company is growing in the triple digits every year since inception (2007), and there tend to be operational gaps, especially when higher level managers are relocated to new divisions.
