Pros

The cost of living in this area is really low. It is a multicultural place with very friendly people. There are great research resources and most professors are pro-student and help you succeed.

Cons

If an urban area is what you are looking for, this is not it. It is not a very pedestrian-friendly place.

Pros

This is an easy job. Great job for students starting out on campus. Required to sit and monitor a lab which for the most part monitors itself as most of the users are computer literate and do not require much assistance. The big plus to it is that you are getting paid to do your homework while at work or surf the web, watch movies etc. Relatively laid back job that I would recommend to students to start. The pay is not that great but considering that you are doing absolutely nothing it is a pretty good compensation. Would totally recommend the job to someone else.

Cons

You are expected to sometimes work weekends or odd hours. The time is not very flexible as you get your schedule picked put for you and not you pick your hours. Also if for some reason or another you cannot make it to your job for any unavoidable circumstance, it is your duty to look for someone else to cover your shift. Also you have to alert the shift supervisors who on the upside may be able to help you find someone to cover the shift for you. The pay doesn't increase much. Its like 25 cents every year which pretty much stays relatively the same.
