Pros

As you progress and begin to comprehend how this job works, you will start to produce. It is very easy to make A LOT of money at this job. It's fairly simple when it comes down to it. The only thing I have seen keep people from reaching their upmost potential or making that next level commission is their own effort. If you do not wake up everyday and have a desire to be better, work harder, and execute, you will be below average to average. The good thing / bad thing is an average agent here can still make a decent salary in regards to other professions. I say it is a bad thing because it can cause you to be complacent and not push yourself to get to that next level. When you get to that next level, management cannot touch you. You come and go as you please because you are producing. And in your bad months, you'll still make plenty to survive. You start to not produce then expect management to keep more tabs on your activities to make sure you aren't just wasting space and leads. If it is something that can be fixed or trained, you will have endless opportunities to learn from someone who is experts at their craft 24/7 if you choose to take advantage of it. This is a great company to work for. This job will change your life if you take the info in and run the play. If you lack self-motivation or competitive drive, you will fail or not last long. There will be others hired to come in and replace the ones who are complacent. If you truly take this opportunity and give it everything you have, it WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE. It changed mine. And I love it! My only regret is not dropping out of high school in 2008 and applying at New Western Acquisitions.

Cons

The ups and downs. You will have swings in emotions from success and failures all happening in short amounts of time. But that is this industry. Real Estate Investment isn't easy or else everyone would be doing it. But if you learn to roll with the punches and keep pushing, eventually the negative news on certain closings aren't such a problem anymore. Like other professions, there are always individuals who will try to influence you on your tactics, strategies, methods, etc. Best to just shake your head and keep listening to someone in your office who actually has the transactions under their belt. Even if they aren't your broker. Not all brokers at New Western were the best performers of this job. Part of it. They got where they are because of who they know. Very few were actual huge producers at this company. They do supply some much needed perspective though from time to time. Find the guy or girl in your office that is buying and selling everything. You'll see them. Shadow THEM. Surround yourself with the best. You will work 365, 24/7. If you are successful and a producer, you are always working. BUT, the commission helps soften the blowing annoyance of a call at 8:30pm at night about a seller who hasn't moved out of the house after closing etc. Again, part of it.

New Western is an amazing place to work but only if you are willing to actually PUT in work. If you put down your head and just work, you are able to make money easily and learn the ins and outs of Real Estate Investing. Everyone is very supportive and is truly rooting for you to succeed. Unlike other brokerages, New Western managers actually invests in your career growth in Real Estate. They do this by finding new and more innovative ways to find leads or creating marketing material to further educate investors.

Cons

It is not for people who are looking for a quick buck or an easy gig. You have to have patience and the hustle to build up your client portfolio.
