Pros

Training: I came to New Western with no real estate or sales experience. The training I received was top notch, and included how to value a house, estimate repairs, generate leads, and persuade investors/sellers. If you are competitive and likeable, you will do very well. Culture: very competitive but friendly environment. No cap: You can earn as much as you’re willing to work. I had weeks where I sold no houses, and weeks where I sold four houses - my pay was completely up to me. The manager helps newer agents set goals to get you to the level you want to be at. The people: the company draws strong personalities that like to push each other to succeed. People complaining about no base salary on here provide a weak argument. If you aren’t selling houses, are you really entitled to a paycheck? Also, what real estate brokerage provides a base salary?

Cons

It’s a real estate job - be prepared for a grind if you want to be successful. Your first month will be spent learning the ropes and how to effectively manage your time, so you should have some reserves before you start. I sold my first house in my fifth week, and wasn’t paid until a month later - this is very typical, and not a con for New Western, just a con for real estate in general. Time: your pay is directly tied to how you spend your time and how much time you invest. If you don’t use it smartly, you’re going to have a bad time.

Pros

Lots of opportunity to make money if you work hard and put your all into the job. You get a lot of great experience doing deals, it’s a volume based business and you get to experience a lot of different situations and learn from there.

Cons

Work environment can be unprofessional at times and run by a very young staff.
