Pros

Great place to work, management is extremely fair, hands off and realistic.

Cons

brand is perceived to only reach the NY DMA which isn't true at all. Not too much growth opportunity within sales. Editorially content can make things challenging.

Pros

Great coworkers and a fun, fast paced enviroment to work in and cover the increasinly crazy news cylce. Good benefits package for full-time staffers.

Cons

Pay could be higher and some members of management seem out of touch with their subortinates and seem to be only concered with pleasing those above them.

Pros

Great people and career opportunities. Good benefits. The pay was OK, not great. Never a dull moment in the newsroom.

Cons

Pay wasn't great. Some toxic culture problems, including a few 'bad tempers'. But overall the people were nice and professional. As with any newspaper, some late nights are to be expected so this isn't really a con but it's what comes with the business. IT is great, but often too overwhelmed to solve urgent tech failures during crucial deadlines.
