Pros

Surronded by African Diaspora Culture and learning. Great sick days and comp day structure.

Cons

By enabling a toxic work environment, senior management and HR consistently protected themselves, preventing regular workers from having a fair chance to address such matters.

Pros

Supportive environment and opportunities to collaborate with librarians. Significant training to learn how to shelve. 8 hours of "wellness" time provided upon hire and accrual of sick hours that can be used after 120 days of employment. Opportunity to join fellowship program. Builds hours around your school schedule

Cons

[Depending on location] Patrons can be difficult/ weird, especially as a young woman. Having to handle patrons' mental health/ substance abuse crises w/o any training. Odd smells/ substances on books + lack of PPE while shelving Cannot transfer to another branch unless you have 12 months in current branch + better paying roles require bachelors.
