1 - While teamwork is promoted and everyone is to do their fair share, in reality, the heavy lifting is expected to be done by the staff, mainly the lowest ranking. There is great amount of tribalism throughout the hospital enterprise, even within certain subareas. 2 - Potential career growth is limited to certain areas. The paths are clearly defined for MDs and nursing roles. There is little to no mentoring outside of these two fields. 3 - Unrealistic staff expectations. Rolling layoffs have occurred during the last couple of years and "do more with less" is the current expectation. Changes are being made without truly addressing how they will impact the staff. Some members from the management team are not open to criticism. If you speak up about these new additional responsibilities, you get push back. Your concerns are dismissed. They view you as either being lazy or difficult. In some cases, they take it as a personal attack. This can also affect your performance review. 4 - Lower staff pay in comparison to other hospitals.
