In most cases it pays more than unemployment

Pros

You can use this company as a resume entry. If you have no other choices for a job and your unemployment is about to run out then I would take a job at Newegg. If you have any other choices, don't walk, RUN, to the other company and the other job. You will be happier every day that you don't work at Newegg.

Cons

There are no managers at Newegg, there are dictators, but, no managers and although they have management training it isn't effective. Best case you will either be paid below market or you will work with people who don't know how to do their jobs. Worst case, you will be paid below market AND work with people who don't know how to do their jobs.

Worst Job I've ever had

Pros

WIth the exception of management, you work with good people (a few) who are talented and believe in the company.

Cons

--Pay is low and Health Benefits are expensive and have to wait a year to start 401k and even matching contribution is low. -- Revolving door of employment, if management doesnt like you they will fire you or find a way to do it.. -- Management is like Big brother watching everything you do, all the time --Mentally suppressive environment and no promotional/advancement opportunity. --Felt like Jail and not appreciated for the hard work you do. --Very clique-ish and favoritism to an extreme --lack of a work life balance. --Was told by management that this Job is first and your family doesn't matter, but management took more days off than they worked even though I rather saw any actual work being done by them. --Never a positive meeting, would always get yelled at (as a group) for one person's mistake or just cause management was having a bad day.

Pros

The vendors that you get work with are top notch such as Microsoft, Intel and Kingston. You get to take on tons of responsibilities that are not part of your job description so you end up learning a lot. The people there in general are nice and the monthly and yearly bonus is quite decent and makes up for the not so good base pay.

Cons

There is little to no structure there. Senior management has been there for forever and a day so they're old school. They like to do things the old way and anything with a bit of imagination they turn down. There is no room for growth there is all senior management there has been there forever and has no plans to leave. They rarely hire from within for management levels and up. Way too much politics going on in the office. Even their HR department is riddled with politics which makes trusting people in the company very difficult to do.
