Pros

Newegg has a great benefits system, allows time off (at least in my experience, others may disagree) and the work environment is among the best I've encountered. The company gives tremendous opportunity for growth through internal hiring and very general job descriptions.

Cons

Oh where to begin.... I would imagine the worst of it is the top management, and by extension middle and lower management. They are just completely unqualified. The only voice they are capable of hearing is their own when it comes to business decisions. If you arent Chinese, your suggestions will be politely listened to, then they will go with the suggestion fielded by someone with a far shorter name than you. The company could use some professionalism in dealing with its employees, such as complete honesty. What I mean by that is this company is very political, and expect most decisions to have a political motive. Its not uncommon for a gang of do-nothings to pile on complaints on someone trying to get the job done in order to get them let go. This will happen with no warning or reason given. Performance goals, especially sales goals, are a constant moving target and anyone with any experience in purchasing will run screaming because they know they cannot make any real money. I've never before seen such a disconnect from management and the employees. The company has been experiencing rapid turnover lately due to founding management returning and mixing things up. Pay is low, which combined with the internal promotion makes the company a stepping stone for young professionals, but unless you are the old school bosses, you arent going to stick around long.

Pros

Easy job, don't have to take it home at night, and the people I work with are all right to work with.

Cons

Much of senior management is arrogant and clueless. Several senior people are utterly incompetent and add little value to the company, but they got promoted because they are connected with the right people. The place is very political. I'm not sure it will be around in 5 years.

Pros

This company is 95% Chinese. If you aren't Chinese your experience is different (not bad, just different). I'm not Chinese. People were really polite, and easy to work with. I enjoyed the company of most employees, and had no hassle with gender/ethnicity. They do try to put emphasis on fairness. No one is allowed to take gifts from merchants. These gifts are raffled off several times a year, duing potlucks. Once a year they have a friends/family day where you can buy damaged/discontinued merchandise for pennies on the dollar. They are very serious about respect and sevice to the customer. People really care about newegg.com customers. It's a bsis that helps people agree and work together. 401k match, full benefits, and for manual laborers there's WC insurance, very thoughtful.

Cons

Senior management is downright secretive. No, absolutly *no* room for advancement. No training, zip, don't even think about it. Their cheap, and will try to bully you into being on time, not takig vacation, showing "whose boss". Call thri bluff, and they back down. I was late every day for 2 years, nothing happened. I came in at a high salary for my job, because I counter offered. There's HR shenanigans going on with H1 visas. People get shuttled back and forth between China and LA a lot. About 50% of the company is recently from China.
